Excerpted from User:BlitzerRyuusei#'Umr-at_Tawil:

There is some evidence that Umuru and Tawil are named after 'Umr at-Tawil (ウムル・アト=タウィル Umuru Ato Tauiru), one of the avatars of Yog-Sothoth from the Cthulhu Mythos.

  • 'Umr at-Tawil (عمر الطويل) is an Arabic phrase meaning "long-lived". Tawil-Noll, Prolonged of Life's title, 永らえし者, means "person who lives long". "'Umr at-Tawil" is often rendered as "The Prolonged of Life", the source of the current translation of Tawil-Noll's title.
  • 'Umr at-Tawil presides over a realm past a gate unlocked by an artifact called the Silver Key, keys being something Umuru is associated with.

It's been fairly obvious to me for a while now (that is, ever since WX-06 Fortune Selector was announced back in December) that "Umuru" should be "Umr". However, I haven't bothered to change it because of inertia. People are used to the name "Umuru", because that is the name the wiki has went with for a year. (The only people who have ever called Umuru "Umr" were the people running the 4chan WIXOSS Lackey plug-in, and even then, that's not widespread since that plug-in is dead.) Changing the name would confuse people used to the name, new players who end up hearing of both names, and sites that sell WIXOSS cards. Also, out of context, both "Umuru" and "Umr" are correct romanizations of ウムル. Seeing WX-09 Reacted Selector, and the prospect of a card actually named ウムル・アト=タウィル, forced me to consider the issue again.

As a note: If I were to change all instances of "Umuru" on the wiki to "Umr", all links that have the "Umuru" name will still work, as I will set up redirects to the renamed pages.

What do you all think?
